Privacy Policy

Last updated: 06 October 2007

This is Frowey’s Privacy Policy, which explains how we protect your personal details and secure payment transactions and order processing.

Frowey’s website

Across the internet, websites use different methods to capture information about how their websites are used. Frowey also captures information about website usage. This information is an aggregation of visits to the website by all users none of which personally identifies individuals. It does, however, capture the IP address (the computers address on the Internet) of the computer used. This helps us to understand how many people visit the website. This is standard practice and is done through the use of cookies, small files that reside on your computers hard disk and increment a log of visits to the site and its pages.

Registration

When you create a customer account and register on the Frowey website you are asked to enter personal information. This is your name, address, contact telephone number and your email address. You secure this with a login username and password. You are also asked if you agree to be added to the mailing list for newsletters. By opting in to receive newsletters you allow us to send you an email with any news of product updates.

We do not ask for credit / or debit card details at the time of registration.

The personal information that you share with us at registration is to allow us to process and deliver your order. Only Frowey has access to this information. We do not share any customer information with other parties.

Secure transaction processing and payment

When you place an order via the Frowey website, you are asked to login, confirm your address and enter your payment details. The checkout process is explained in our Terms and Conditions.

When you place an order you are automatically redirected to a secure server – this part of the process is completed using a secure connection with data encryption to protect your payment information. Please ensure that your own computer is adequately protected with updated spyware (and virus) protection.

During the secure transaction process, you will notice that the website address in the browsers address bar changes to https://... and a padlock appears next to it. This is the address for the secure server that manages the transaction part of the order process. The server is located in the same UK data centre as the Frowey website.

When you place your order and checkout an email is sent to us and you (the customer) confirming the order details.

The customer email is sent as plain text and includes confirmation of your delivery address, the produce selection and cost.

Frowey also receives an email but this one is encrypted – only Frowey can decrypt it and access your payment details. Frowey uses technology and the adoption of a privacy policy to ensure that your personal information and payment details remain secure. If you prefer not to submit your credit card details over the Internet you can choose to ask us to contact you by telephone instead.

On receipt of an order, Frowey decrypts the payment information and processes payment. The information is then immediately destroyed. This process uses ‘customer not present’ transaction processing as is done when you phone an order through to any company and give them your payment details over the phone.

Frowey respects the privacy of your information and takes every measure to protect it.
